Ally Ramsey has always believed that the things we choose to display tell a story.
Before becoming a photographer, Ally spent nearly a decade as a museum curator, creating spaces that helped people connect with history, meaning and memory. Today, through Ally Ramsey Photography in Howard County, Maryland, she brings that same heart to families, helping them preserve their own tangible history through portraits they can enjoy every day.
Ally loves helping people feel comfortable and truly themselves in front of the camera, then leaving them with artwork that makes them smile each time they walk past it.
When she’s not photographing families, you might find Ally traveling, spending time with her family and two kids, playing chess, going to concerts or enjoying the diversity and stories that make Howard County such a special place to call home.

Before the portrait session, I meet with each family to talk through clothing, style, location and where they may want to enjoy their portraits in their home. Together, we create a thoughtful plan so their finished portraits feel personal, meaningful and beautifully designed.

The Cinematic Reveal
After the portrait session, the family views their portraits during a guided appointment where I help them choose their favorite images and explore the best ways to enjoy them as photographic artwork. They are never left to figure it out alone.

Finished Heirloom Art
The auction certificate includes a credit toward finished photographic portraits. During the viewing appointment, each family may choose how they’d like to use that credit, whether toward a small gift print keepsake or as part of a larger custom artwork collection for their home.
